A Greek Affair by Linn B. Halton

I am delighted to be kicking off the blog tour for A Greek Affair by Linn B. Halton today. My thanks to Rachel of Rachel’s Random Resources for inviting me to take part in the tour.

Leah Castelli has had a tough few years. Forced to raise her young daughter as a single Mum whilst contending with the devastating aftermath that was the sudden end of her marriage, she is absolutely thrilled when she wins a prestigious travel blogger award. Suddenly, doors are opening up to her and she is receiving offers to review glamorous travel locations. Closed off to the idea of love, suddenly she finds herself in Greece, meeting a man who makes her feel for the first time in a long time. But can she trust him?

Now that we’re deep into dark mornings and even darker nights, I was very much looking forward to a little sunshine from my reading. A Greek Affair was exactly what I needed to dust away the doldrums. It had everything I was looking for; likeable characters, a beautiful setting, romance and of course, no love story would be worth it’s salt if there wasn’t a little bit of conflict involved!

Leah is a great main character. She is lovely, endearing and very normal. She could very easily be one of your friends. For this reason I instantly warmed to her and even felt myself bristling in anger on her behalf at certain points in the story. Her relationship with her daughter, Rosie, is truly heart warming and the author has done a fantastic job of capturing the dynamic between them.

The novel also features some brilliant secondary characters, Harrison in particular. A plea to the author – can we please have a Harrison spin off!?

A Greek Affair is a take on the complications of relationships for single parents. It’s not just a story about romantic love, but about the love a parent has for their child. A thoroughly enjoyable novel, perfect if you’re in search of a bit of winter sun) or if you’re lucky enough to actually see some real winter sun!).

Synopsis

More than just a holiday romance?

Her daughter, her job and divorcing her untrustworthy ex are Leah’s main priorities. She isn’t really bothered that her life might be missing a few things. But after winning a prestigious travel blogger award, she’s inundated with offers to review glamorous holiday destinations. Lying around drinking exotic cocktails and being paid for it! What could be better?

Perhaps a romantic trip to idyllic Greece to find the one man who might make Leah risk her heart again…
