This Is How We Are Human by Louise Beech

My thanks to Anne Cater, and the publisher Orenda Books for inviting me to take part in this blog tour. I received a digital copy of the book, and this review forms my honest opinion. Blurb Sebastian James Murphy is twenty years, six months and two days old. He loves swimming, fried eggs and Billy … Continue reading This Is How We Are Human by Louise Beech →

One Last Time by Helga Flatland

My thanks to Anne Cater and to the publisher, Orenda Books, for inviting me to take part in this blog tour. I received an ebook to read ahead of taking part, and this review forms my honest opinion. Blurb Anne’s diagnosis of terminal cancer shines a spotlight onto fractured relationships with her daughter and granddaughter, … Continue reading One Last Time by Helga Flatland →

The Blind Date

The theme for my Writers Group this month was 'Humour'. I've had a stab, but I'm not sure it's my genre!!! Let me know what you think....! Inelegantly heaving her 5 foot nothing self onto a highly fashionable, yet torturous bar stool, Chloe precariously perched her bottom in the cold, hard metal seat. I was really pleased to be asked to join the #neglectedfaithfuls challenge started by @hook.me.a.book I’ve been keen to read Matt Cain for a while having read rave reviews for Albert Entwhistle from some fellow #bookstagrammers I’ve enjoyed my first #buddyread of the year with The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. I was a HUGE fan of Friends, I’d watch it but tape it at the same time so I could watch it all over again, I owned all the videos and when videos died a death, I replaced them all on DVD, which still have pride of place on my shelves today. Even now, it’s a rare day when an episode doesn’t get put on the tv. I was invited to take part this year in a group where we all read our #neglectedfaithfuls - books by authors we love but have neglected, or books we’d love to read but have been languishing far too long in the TBR. Tonight at @therabbithole.brigg Reading Group, the first for 2023, we’ll be talking #wearethebrennans by @tracey_lange Happy publication day to @janice.hallett and the fantastic #themysteriouscaseofthealpertonangels This rather lovely journal from @lswmindcards turned up for me - a complete surprise and there was no note but I love it so thank you very much! Introducing my current obsession…..
